My take on Pryor

Posted on: March 19, 2008 1:57 pm

First let me just say I am glad he chose Ohio State over Michigan and Penn State.  Is it because I think he is the next great thing?  No, not really, the kid has things to prove at the next level.  On the chance that he can fulfill or surpass the potential that seemingly everyone has identified I am glad he is on my team.  Mostly what I hope for the kid is that he enjoys his time at Ohio State (I probably enjoyed mine a little toooooooooooooooooooo, alright a lot, toooooooooooooooooooooo much.

I hope he enjoys his time in the Dorm (OSU has a rule that all Frosh live in a dorm or with a family member), in the classroom, and on the playing field.  I still look back on my time there as 4 of the best years of my life.  Welcome to the family Terrelle, we are really glad you are here.

My take on Pryor

Yes LM I hope that he is able to enjoy school too.  It really is a fantastic finish to a fantastic recruiting season for the Buckeyes.  Despite all of the ignorance and hatred that gets spewed at OSU it is great to see that when it comes down to it the kids can look beyond the nonsense and realize that OSU is a special place with a special coach.

It really is a unique thing for OSU to have a QB with this much hype.  It's a good "problem" to have.  Boeckman, Henton and Pryor should really push eachother and hopefully that translates into a very high level of play.  It's a great day to be excited about being a Buckeye fan.

My take on Pryor

I happy to see he's in a good situation with the Buckeyes. It was the best opportunity and I know they will groom him similar to Tim Tebow in Florida.

Who cares??? I mean really. It's too early to matter with all this hype for a prep player.

My take on Pryor

I agree with "the  departed".  It is way to early to really know how this kid will turn out.  Every team every year has players recruited that are supposed to be the next coming and then four years you may see production and then again you may never hear of them again.  Just my opinion but these kid seems like he may be very high maintenance.  He wants the attention and spotlight on himself.  We'll see.  I am not a fan of any of the other schools that wanted Pryor so is not were I am coming from.  Just think he wanted the spotlight on himself and only himself therefore he didn't want to declare when everyone else did.  He isn't going to have that kind of time and indecision while he is in the pocket.

My take on Pryor

It is a big deal.  If Pryor becomes the greatest QB in the history of the game, or if he never takes a snap as college QB, Ohio State won the recruiting battle and that is big - especially in Rodriguez' first recruiting year.  Any Michigan football fan who says they are not a bit upset at losing both Malett and Pryor are just full of it.  Rodriguez has solidified some good recruits, but with an incoming coach there are always questions about how the transition will play out.  Pryor would have given Michigan a much better shot at success in the initial year under the new staff.  A shaky start for the new coaching staff could have HUGE ramifications in the arms race of recruiting.  This is the first coach UofM has brought in that is not part of the Bo regime.  There are a lot of nervous Wolverines right now, and the big ? at QB is not making things any better.
